Jack's Great American Novel

A student of mine created a children's book in her creative writing class and gave it to me to share with Jack and Ben.  Jack, touched, decided to return the favor by making one for her.  He worked on it with the help of Miss Amber, and the dubious influence of "Wild Russia," the nature series we had watched the night before (reindeer, seals, ravens, and, yes, wolves who ate the carcass of a dead horse... imagine which Jack remembered).
