Hands-On Museum

Today we headed to Ann Arbor to have lunch at Zingerman's Deli and then visit the Hands-On Museum with Jack. Jack ate more of his grilled cheese from Zingerman's than any other sandwich he's ever had and was an absolute angel at lunch, spending most of his time watching people, dogs, and birds on their back patio. (Apparently the secret to a peaceful meal time is continual distractions.)

The museum was amazing, but I think we'll be waiting a few years before we return. Brian and I would have loved to explore all of the exhibits, but Jack wasn't terribly interested in the main exhibits. He found his niche, however, in the preschool room, where children aged 4 and under could play. He was first attracted to the infant enclosure, a fenced area with a padded floor and big squishy balls. Then he decided he was big enough to venture out to the rest of the room, playing on the wooden play structure, the fire truck, the kitchen fort, and the water tables.
























Jack loved his time there, but it was fairly obvious when it was time to leave. So we headed back to Zingerman's for a gelato (Jack had vanilla and blueberry and loved it), and then hit the road for home. He slept the whole, blessed way.
