Jack and I were counting down the days until Christmas this morning on the advent calendar: 7 days until Ben's birthday and Christmas Eve, and 8 days until Christmas Day.
"Ben and Baby Jesus have the same birthday?" Jack asked.
"Yes, they do," I said.
"Is Ben Baby Jesus's friend?" he asked.
I considered it: "I guess so. I'm sure they are."
"Hey, Ben! Your friend Baby Jesus has the same birthday as you!"
I realized later that Jack thinks Baby Jesus is also turning one-year-old.
