Baby Boo Bash 2012: Third Time's the Charm

Today we hosted our annual kiddy Halloween party for our friends and neighbors.  I think we've finally got this thing down because we managed to accomplish the party without too much stress or trouble.  Things that helped: 1) my parents took the boys to a nature center for the morning and brought them home at naptime, which allowed Brian and I all morning and afternoon to cook and clean; 2) we served appetizers instead of entrees, so instead of spending the last hour before the party frantically shredding cheese for macaroni, I relaxed while my meatballs heated in the crockpot; and 3) we moved part of the party into the garage, borrowing our neighbors' heater, moving the train table out there, and making it a kid-friendly party zone.

Everyone seemed to have a great time, the food turned out delicious and festive, and cleanup only took an hour or two, which is very impressive, since the house looked like it had been ransacked.

The last full-serve gas station in our area just closed,
but Nolan appears to remember the procedure as he fills up Ben's car.

Ben liked playing with the noodle table.
Most of the noodles somehow ended up on the garage floor.

The train table was a big hit.

Jack and Kaitlyn looked like they were on a date
at their own little table for two.

Ethan loved all the new toys he could play with.

Skyline dip

The spread -- candy corn veggies, pumpkin veggies,
pumpkin oranges... very festive!

Dirt pudding and cookie dough dip -- yum!

Frankenbaby: Charlie liked chewing on the #5.
