Today was Jackson's second pediatrician appt. We are proud to say that he is gaining weight rapidly. Typically, the doctors like to see babies gain an ounce a day, but Jack gained 11 ounces in seven days, putting an end to his father's fears that he wasn't getting enough to eat. This means he now weighs 6 pounds 12 ounces; quite the big boy. Just to keep us humble, though, he decided to have some projectile pooing while we were changing his diaper on the exam table and he just barely missed hitting his dad's shirt. From now on, we'll be waiting a few minutes after the last poo sound before we attempt to change him.
In other news, he went on his first visit yesterday to see his Great-Grandma Beno in Brighton, about 45 minutes away. Grandma was captivated by him, although she told him it was rude to come to someone's house just to sleep. Jackson, of course, was unfazed and continued to snore softly.
Today, he also slept through a visit from Joann and her daughter Mallory, who dropped off tons of delicious Italian food for us and some cute onesies. We now have more delicious food than we know what to do with.
He rounded out a busy day, by spending some tummy time on the blanket that his Aunt Kelly made him and posing for pictures with his dad.
He's used to posing for pictures because he is now a cover model: Brian wrote a story about being a new dad for the Father's Day issue of NOISE and Brian and Jackson are on the cover. Jeremy, the NOISE photographer, came to the house to take pictures of the two of them here, in addition to a photo shoot at the LSJ. The link to the article is here . It is really sweet and touching, a great keepsake for Jackson when he's older.
