Sleepy Time

Jackson woke up at 6:50 this morning.

This wouldn't be such a significant announcement, except that he went to bed around midnight. Almost seven hours of sleep! That's a huge accomplishment for our household.

There are a couple of factors contributing to the marathon sleep: for one, he didn't nap much yesterday; he also wore himself out screaming due to a (thankfully now rare) gas attack; and he wore a sleeper to bed for the first time.

He has been kicking his swaddle off for the past few nights, so I decided that it's time for him to stop sleeping in his onesies and swaddle and start wearing a regular footie sleeper to bed. We like to keep the house cooler at night to promote deeper sleep, and we haven't been able to turn the air down lately because we've worried that Jack would get too cold. Now, we know he'll stay snuggly warm and we'll all be able to sleep more comfortably. Plus the footie sleepers are adorable on him.

We started the night in a two piece pajama set, but he kept falling out of the pants (they ended up around his knees), so we switched to a regular sleeper. The little guy looked so big in his crib with full pjs on, but he was so soft and sweet to cuddle that he was hard to put down.

The pictures are of him during his nap (he looks like he's a little frog, doesn't he?), getting ready for bed in his two-piece pjs, and napping this morning in his footie sleeper. Hopefully tonight will be another nice long sleep for the whole family.
