Jack's Bottle Is Half Full

This weekend was a rough one for Jack. In addition to having a case of the sniffles, which required his parents to constantly suck out his nose with the aspirator (he HATES it), his diaper rash took a dramatic turn for the worse. Instead of just being an annoyance, it suddenly started hurting him and looking really inflamed. The poor little guy usually loves having his diaper changed and chews happily on his feet while we wipe him, but this weekend he squirmed and put his legs down and did anything to keep us from touching his sore little bum. (I have a doctor's appt today to have him looked at.)

On top of all that, his bottom two teeth finally broke through the surface. We noticed one on Sunday morning and the other on Sunday evening. While this is very exciting on the parenting front, the teeth are SHARP and must have been pretty painful coming through.

In spite of everything that was conspiring to make him miserable, our darling baby maintained his sunny disposition and showed his gummy grin every chance he got. We feel so lucky to be parenting such an optimistic, happy boy, even in the face of really mean diaper rash, a cold, and razor sharp teeth.
