Playing with the cats

Jack is becoming increasingly mobile with each passing day. This development has been most disconcerting to the cats who before could walk by with him without too much worry of him trying to make a grab at him.

However, Jack seems to be learning to move backward in order to make his way around the room. And consequently today he was able to get his hands one of the cats' prized toys - their feather. This is Tucker's toy of choice. He loves to carry the feather part in his mouth and then act as if he's jousting down the hallway - usually in the middle of the night.

Christine and I kept the feather part out of Jack's hands, but he enjoyed moving the stick up and down. Consequently, when Jack was finally getting the hang of banging it on the hardwood floor and having the bell on it ring, Riley came out from his hiding spot and decided to see what was going on. The cats weren't really sure what to make of their new playmate, but they seemed very interested and almost made a play for the feather. They held off this time, but I'm sure it'll only be a matter of time.
