Brian sweetly sent me flowers early in the day. Aren't they pretty? Then he came home early so that we could head to dinner at Dusty's Cellar. My mom came over to spend the evening with Jack so that we could have some alone time. After a delicious dinner (I had my favorite Mango Mojo Hanger Steak with avocado chimmichurri sauce and creamy truffled grits, and we shared a bottle of wine -- my first in a year), we went to the MSU gardens, where we took our wedding pictures four years ago.
It was nice to get out and just focus on ourselves, but seeing Jack's smile when he realized we were home made my heart melt. I think we'll try to go out on our own a little more from now on, but it will probably continue to be hard to leave the little guy behind.
